Atlantic City Blackjack

Atlantic City Blackjack is, as you will have guessed a popular variant most often found in Atlantic City! The game offers players the chance of what is called late surrender and this means that after the dealer has checked for a blackjack then you may, if you wish, give up your hand and get half your stake money returned.

Number Of Decks: The game of Atlantic City Blackjack uses eight standard decks of playing cards.

Splitting Rules: You are permitted to split hands upto three time which will mean you are playing a maximum of four hands.

Aces can just be split once and you need to know that only one card will be dealt to a split Ace, if a ten is dealt to a split Ace then this hand is not a Blackjack but a 21 hand.

Also any two cards that share the same value or denomination may be split and that includes all of the ten valued cards.

Doubling Down Rules: Once the dealer has given you your first two cards you may opt to double down irrespective of what cards you are holding, you can also double down after splitting cards.

Dealer Play: The Dealer in Atlantic City Blackjack will stand his hand on all 17 hands, and this is classed as a hole card game so the Dealer will peek and check for Blackjack when he is holding either a Ten or an Ace.

Payout and House Edge: A players Blackjack will payout at odds of 3 to 2, winning an Insurance bet will get you 2-1. The house edge of the Atlantic City game is 0.36%.

Atlantic City Blackjack - Hint and Tips
Late Surrender can lower the house edge but it is very important that you only take it when perfect strategy calls for it.

Correct playing strategy state that you should only take late surrender when you are holding a hand that totals 16 and the Dealer has a 9, 10 or an eleven, or when you have a fifteen with the Dealer holding a Ten.

If your hand contains a pair of Aces as the first two cards dealt you should always split them, if on the other hand you have a pair of tens then make sure you always stand.

Get dealt a pair of two's or three's, and if the Dealer is holding a 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 then split them if the Dealer is holding any other card then you should always hit your hand.
