3 Card Poker is best described as two separate games in one, there is the standard game in which you simply have to get a 3 card poker hand that is better than the dealers and then a second game which is known as the pairs plus game in which you receive payouts based purely on your hand.

To begin a game you need to place a wager on the ante box and in this game you will be dealt three cards, you can then decide to bet if you think your hand is going to beat the dealers. The dealer needs to get at least a Queen in his hand to qualify.

The payouts are as follows, should your hand contain a Straight Flush in the ante game you get a payout of 5:1, a Three of a Kind pays 4:1 and a Straight pays 1:1 but only if you have not folded your hand! These payouts are given irrespective of what the dealer is holding.

All other ante payouts are at even money and will only payout if the dealer is holding a Queen or better, and you have not folded your hand.

The pairs plus is an additional wager you can either make along with the ante bet or separately without the ante bet. In this wager you are simply betting that your hand will contain a pair or better, the payouts for this are:

A Straight Flush payout at odds of 40:1, Three of a Kind gets you 30:1, a Straight pays 6:1, a Flush will get you 4:1 and any Pair pays 1:1. Remember that in the pairs plus bet it doesn't matter what the dealer is holding it is just your hand that matters.
